Prior to moving, make sure you...

• Estimates from professional movers
• Residential information packet from the Chamber of Commerce in your new area
• Packing materials such as bubble wrap, packing peanuts, newspaper, various size boxes,and tape

• Decide where each piece will be placed in your new home and make floor plans

• Decide what to take with you and what to sell or give away
• Have a Garage Sale

• Give forwarding address to post office

• Insurance company; auto, health, life, fire
• Charge accounts, credit cards
• Subscriptions
• Relatives and friends

• Arrange for a checking account in new community and transfer accounts

• Arrange for utilities to be shut off in your current location
• Get any refunds of deposits
• Arrange for connections in new location and transfer accounts

• Ask for referrals and transfer prescriptions
• Obtain medical records
• Have prescriptions filled

• Obtain copies of school records

• Change information on tags, licenses, etc.
